Oktoberfest continues throughout the month at Cafe Old Vienna at 3901 N. Kings Highway in Myrtle Beach. From 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every Tuesday and Saturday in October, the Austrian restaurant is having music, beer and a special Oktoberfest menu.

Crady's Restaurant at 332 Main St. in Conway has added breakfast service from 7-10 a.m. Thursdays through Mondays. Expect all the baked goods for which proprietor Barbara Whitley is known. The number there is 248-3321.

On Sundays, locals with Grand Strand or Brunswick County, N.C., IDs may purchase one entree and two beverages and receive a second entree free at SeaBlue, which is at 503 U.S. 17 N. in North Myrtle Beach. Mention the deal when making reservations, which are highly recommended. You can also bring your dog if you like; the restaurant has a nice covered outdoor dining area. The number is 249-8800.

The third annual specially designed pink Salt Water Creek Cafe cancer-fighting T-shirts are in stock. For $20 you get a shirt and a coupon for a free appetizer. Seventy percent of the proceeds goes to the Georgetown Hospital Systems Indigent Breast Cancer Fund. Salt Water Creek is at 4660 U.S. 17 Bypass in Murrells Inlet, and the number is 357-2433.

The second anchor restaurant at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, Tripps, has closed three weeks after another longtime tenant in the complex was denied a lease extension. Tripps general manager, Robin Genitsky, said on Oct. 6 the company did not want to leave the space and offered to pay extra rent, but representatives of Burroughs & Chapin Company, Inc. which owns the shopping/dining/entertainment complex, would not negotiate. Tripps was in its unit for 15 years and was the original restaurant at Broadway at the Beach. In mid-September, another 15-year restaurant veteran at Broadway at the Beach, Tony Roma's, was denied a lease extension and had to close.

Cherry Grove Deli, which opened in November 2008 at 203 Sea Mountain Highway in the Cherry Grove section of North Myrtle Beach, has closed. Owner John Dashkavich offered sandwiches, salads, hot dogs and traditional deli side dishes, plus pierogies, and he participated in many community events and festivals. Cherry Grove Deli closed the week of Oct. 4.

In Surfside Beach, Surfside Subs has closed. Bernie Miles and Joe Garafano opened the restaurant at 810 3rd Ave. S. in Surfside Beach in September 2009, serving subs and outstanding pasta salad.

Also in Surfside Beach, the Fazoli's Italian restaurant at 1205 U.S. 17 N. is closed, and in about a month it will become the third location of Bar-B-Que House. The first two locations are in Oak Island, N.C. and North Myrtle Beach.
