Son Of Yankee Candle Company Founder Starts Kringle Candlemakers

20-year-old Michael Kittredge III held a ribbon cutting ceremony in Massachusetts this weekend. Kittredge III opened his first store, Kringle Candle Company in Bernardston, MA with his father on Saturday.

Kittredge III said the ribbon cutting ceremony with his father was special to him. That's because so many times in the past, Kittredge III had cut ribbons at other grand opening ceremonies with his father, Michael Kittredge II for a new Yankee Candle Company. Kittredge II is the former owner and founder of Yankee Candle Company. Kringle Candle Company is, in a manner of speaking, Yankee Candle's baby.

Kittredge III said he started Kringle Candle Company when he was 17 in his basement. The brand new Kringle store is located Michael Kittredge III purchased his first building for $480,000.

Kringle Candle Company has 36 fragrance scented candles. The candles are gingerbread, peppermint twist, and Nantucket rose. The Kringle candles are crafted on site at the Kringle Candle Company Store. Kringle's also sells holiday items and is geared up for the Christmas holiday season as well.

Aside from the story of a family legacy, the Kittredge III's launch of Kringle Candle Company reestablishes the Kittredge name into the candlemaking industry. Michaeal Kittredge II sold Yankee Candle in 1998 for $400 million.
