Patriots And Chargers Release Inactives: De Ron Brace And Cb Terrence Wheatley ...

The biggest question surrounding today's pre-game activities didn t have to do with the Patriots. Mostly, it was all about Chargers TE ANTONIO GATES, who spent a ton of time before the game trying to jog.

WHAT WAS THE VERDICT?

The Chargers announced their inactive list, and Gates was not on it. He ll give it a try, bad toe and all.

As for the Patriots,'S SERGIO BROWN will play with JARRAD PAGE out. So will JAMES SANDERS, which means Brown may not play much defense. Brown (No. 38, pictured) was signed off the Patriots practice squad yesterday and could figure prominently in special teams.

But the biggest surprise is second-year DE RON BRACE, who is a healthy scratch after impressing with his play early. maybe DE BRANDON DEADERICK gets another start. And DB TERRENCE WHEATLEY, no longer injured, still can t get on the field. Maybe this is the game DARIUS BUTLER makes his return. Oh, and JULIAN EDELMAN is back after a concussion.
