Myrtle Beach Area Concerts

Rootsy/Americana trio Dangermuffin, which has caught the attention of the jam band scene's fans, has been added to the bill of jam outfit moe.'s Nov. 12 gig at House of Blues. It's almost that time of year again as the 41st annual South Carolina State Bluegrass Festival returns to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center during the Thanksgiving weekend (Nov. 25-27), boasting an array of artists headed up by the legendary Ralph Stanley, along with notables J.D. Crowe and The New South, Doyle Lawson and Quick Silver. Tickets are $35 per day for general admission, $40 for reserved seating; and three-day passes are $95 for reserved seating, $85 for general admission. One of Contemporary Christian music's most successful artists, Steven Curtis Chapman, performs tonight at Beach Church (formerly The Forum) near Freedisabled Music Park and tickets are $23, $35 and $50 available via www.hisradio.com or by calling 866-440-7880.

It's been awhile since he's rolled along our shores, but blues guitarist Bob Margolin (who played in Muddy Waters'ing band for much of the '70s) is the featured artist at The Grand Strand Blues Society 2010 Awards show set for Nov. 5 at The Hideaway in North Myrtle Beach, and advance tickets are $20 (includes dinner and one beverage). If you wait until the night of the show, it will be $30 to get in. Advance tickets are available at The Hideaway, 1021 Second Ave. N., North Myrtle Beach. The Latin beats and booty-bumpin' bass will take a break at Club Boca on Nov. 11 as up-and-coming country crooner Josh Thompson ("Beer on the Table,") will perform at the Celebrity Square hot spot, and tickets are on sale now. They're $15 in advance, $18 day of show. Call 444-3500.

The Palmetto State's own Christian rock/alternative juggernaut NEEDTOBREATHE, lead by brothers Bo and Bear Rinehart, comes to the House of Blues on Nov. 26 and tickets are $20-$28.
