Cops issue descriptions of Coit Tower attackers

Police have released a sketch and descriptions of the thugs wanted for the brutal beating of a couple on their second date at Coit Tower in August, hoping the public can help haul them to jail.
One of the victims, a Redwood City woman, said she was on her second date with a Sunnyvale man on Aug. 21, simply chatting and enjoying the views, when the suspects beat and robbed them without warning.
Her date, who was knocked unconscious in the attack and whose jaw was broken in two places, was hospitalized for several days, she said.
The attacker came up from behind the male victim, cursed and then cold-cocked him with brass knuckles, she said.
The woman, a dental hygienist, said she rushed to his aid, first checking his pulse. Then the suspect, along with three other thugs, punched her and stole her purse, she said.
Meanwhile, two women who were with the attackers stood back against a car, watching the brutal acts while puffing on cigarettes, she said.
The female victim fought off the suspects, then ran for help. A neighbor at a nearby apartment let her call cops.
The hoodlums also robbed her date, taking his wallet and an iPhone before fleeing, the victim's sister told The Examiner.
Due to safety concerns, the victims did not want their names used.
Police say they have not let up their search for the attackers. They released an image of one of the suspects, described as a light-skinned black male, 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 200 pounds.
The suspect has tattoos on his upper left arm and was wearing a black baseball cap, T-shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes at the time of the attack, police said.
The second suspect is a black male, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds. He wore a dark T-shirt and had close-shaved hair.
