TV Junkie: RIP Tom Bosley; Starz Targets HBO; NBC Buys Full Seasons of 'The ...

NBC is picking up full seasons of,, and. This will hopefully let the producers of even out some rough spots in the plot and bring it to its full potential. Obviously was going to get picked up as the network is so beholden to Dick Wolf regardless of how meh its portrayal of LA is.

The anomaly here is - do any of you think this show has the legs? It's been somewhat pleasing that not every joke is about how Indians pronounce English, more like only 2/3s of the jokes. Thankfully NBC has also chosen to pick up, one of the less-pedestrian shows out there on the big networks.

- The former CEO of HBO, Chris Albrecht, who now runs Starz, says that HBO has lost its gumption and is, essentially, a shadow of its former self. Albrecht is attempting to position Starz as the maverick despite the fact that their entire production budget of $115 million is less than the budget of any one of several HBO shows ("Band of Brothers",,, etc.). We're skeptical of Albrecht's commitment to this idea as the network passed on renewing, a fantastically unconventional show that was both hilarious and inexpensive to produce. - First a TV mom and now a dad". Barbara Billingsly, iconic mother of Beaver Cleaver passed away over the weekend and today it was reported that Tom Bosley who played Howard Cunningham on died today. Although Bosley did plenty of movies he was noted for television, being a regular on several successful TV shows over 3 decades including,,,, and among many others. We will miss the man that played Mr. Cunningham. - Tonight we're going to start things off by educating ourselves with on PBS, focusing on how the amazing cathedrals of Europe were built - our visit to France last year has re-invigorated our interest in these architectural wonders. As if every segment of tonight's broadcast of the 2010 Scream Awards hasn't been tweeted all to hell since their taping over the weekend - we're going to watch some of it anyway just to see what people at the awards looked like. Tonight's promises to be a special one after all the set in last week's episode.
