Sweetest Day is being celebrated today in the US and it is basically commemorated in the areas around the Great Lake Region and in a number of regions in Northeast, this year it is being commemorated on the 16th of the current month that is today and according to the custom it is celebrated on every third Saturday of this month. In the old times sweetest Day was celebrated in order to spread happiness in the lives of such person that are unfortunate and the ones that lack wealth but as years went by the day has started to be commemorated as a day to show kindness to people that one cares for. The confectioners have a great time on this day as the sweets which they produce are sold out in great numbers and they also get some blood pumped while taking a look at the happiness of the people.
Some people also say that Sweetest Day is a concocted promotion done by the candy makers in order to enhance the poularity of their products. Not much people agree to this thing as the day has a long history and its history is close to a hundred years old now. Regardless of the reason behind this the people continue to purchase sweets in order to greet their loved ones and spend a lot of quality time with them. The diabetics are advised to use the sugar free delights on the day in order to regulate their blood glucose content.
