News Corp. continues to keep Fox 5, MY 9 off air; Cablevision customers suffer ...

Sabo/News, Robert Cablevision customers are being sacked just as hard as Giants quarterback Eli Manning as holdout with Fox continues.

Talks broke down between Cablevision and Fox last night, preventing 3 million local subscribers from watching baseball's National League Championship Series opener.

The stalemate also puts in jeopardy today's NFL matchup between the Giants and Lions scheduled to air at 1 p.m.

The Yankees aren't affected by the dispute. Their American League Championship Series with the Texas Rangers is being broadcast on TBS.

After meeting for several hours yesterday, the feuding media companies left the negotiating table before 7:30 p.m without an agreement. Cablevision spokesman Jim Maiella said negotiators plan to meet again today.

Fox channels went dark just after midnight yesterday when the two parties failed to agree on the fee to broadcast 12 Fox stations.

Cablevision claims they have paid $70 million a year for the broadcasting rights, and Fox now wants $150 million.

Earlier this year, viewers missed the first 15 minutes of the Oscars show when Cablevision couldn't come to terms with The Walt Disney Co., which owns ABC.
