Thornbury Twp. To Hold Ordinance Hearing On Sewer Grinder Pump

By Lana Morelli

Thornbury Township has scheduled a hearing to discuss the current Grinder Pump Sewer Ordinance 7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 1. The township hopes to amend the current sewer ordinance, and do away with the need for every household to have a grinder pump agreement.

Also reported, payment for the west side sewer project was made to Botella Construction in the amount of $31,015 after additional pipe footages and air releases valves were installed.

In other news, Township Manager Jeffery Seagraves announced that FEMA confirmed a reimbursement of $50,030 to the township from snow storms last winter when a state of emergency was declared.

A lot of paperwork was involved to get this reimbursement. At the time we used our liquid fuels funds and I m happy to report that we have that money. Seagraves said.

The township approved a purchase of a 2010 Ford Explorer to replace the 2006 Trailblazer under a state contract.

The township also approved another campout for Boy Scout Pack 66, to have 50 scouts camp in Martin Park.

FISHING DERBY

In other news Vice Chair James Kelly reported that the recent Fishing Derby was a huge success. Kelly attended the event in which 500 fish were delivered Friday for the Saturday morning event. Fifty-three children enjoyed the day.
