It was vintage Glenville football Saturday night at Bedford's Bearcat Stadium.

Get out of the gate fast and don't look back during a 41-6 Division I, Region 1 quarterfinal victory over Warren Harding.

The victory sets up next Saturday's regional semifinal game between two unbeatens Glenville and St. Edward at a site to be determined. The Eagles (11-0), ranked No. 3 in The Plain Dealer and state poll, advanced with a 35-21 win over Mentor.

Unranked Harding (8-3), an eight-time postseason qualifier, never knew what hit it but Shane Wynn had a lot to do with that.

Wynn, a 5-9, 165-pound senior, helped Glenville (11-0) build a 27-6 halftime lead on 68-yard touchdown run off a Harding punt just a little under two minutes into the game.

Marlon Worthington Jr. kicked the first of his three first-half extra points.

"I basically ran back and forth and when I saw the wall, I hit it," said Wynn, who finished with an unofficial 101 yards rushing, 32 yards in receptions and two touchdowns.

Glenville, ranked No. 1 in the area and state poll, No. 5 in the ESPN and 11th in the USA Today national polls, extended its lead to 14-0 at the outset of the second quarter.

After V'Angelo Bentley's 85-yard touchdown scamper was nullified by an unsportsmanlike-conduct penalty, Robert Walton Jr.'s 2-yard touchdown run capped a 7-play, 85-yard drive which was sparked by quarterback Cardale Jones' 22-yard completion to Evonte Dunn.

Jones then found Nicholas Davis for a 15-yard scoring toss on the sixth and final play of a 35-yard drive that put Glenville ahead, 21-0, with 6:37 left in the first half.

The Tarblooders went ahead, 27-0, a minute later when Jones scored from 20 yards on a 4-play, 33-yard march that was set up by an Antwan Crutcher interception.

Jones exited the game after the touchdown with a hip injury but returned in the second half. He was eventually replaced by sophomore Christopher Overton but not before completing 10 of 15 passes for 183 yards.

"I think [Jones] has a hip-pointer but he should be ready to go next week," said Tarblooders coach Ted Ginn Sr.

Harding's lone score came on a 2-yard run by quarterback Mikhail Seawood with 2:59 remaining before intermission and one play after an errant snap on a Glenville punt attempt.
