Larry Dean Breaks Tuggle's Valdosta State University Record

VALDOSTA STATE UNIVERSITY : Larry Dean was a former footballer at the Tift County where he was playing for the Blue Devils. He is not playing for the blue devils any more now but that does not mean that he has lost out on the grandeur of life. In fact he has gone on to bigger things now.

Currently he plays for the University team of the Valdosta State. That would mean that he is a Blazer now, playing with his fellow Blazers. The Valdosta State Univ Blazers thrashed the Arkansas Tech team to a crushing defeat with a margin of 21 to 7.

In that same game, Larry Dean stacked up an impressive tally that of 8 tackles in the same game. With those 8 tackles in the Tech game, the total number of tackles spanning his career has gone on to a count of 347 of them. Jessie Tuggle was the previous player to hold the record number of tackles in a career for the VSU which has now been smashed.

Tuggle has also achieved legendary status in his stint with the Falcons of Atlanta. The tackle that took Dean to a career tally of 341 was one which made his opponents lose 4 yards which makes it all the more special. This year has been great for him with a tally of 101 tackles which have eventuated to making his opponents lose as many as six and a half yards. In totality. Now the records books of the VSU have opened its pages to get dedicated to this formidable footballer.

The tally for his team this year has been just as good with a 7 to 1 win loss record which has placed them in second position in the Division II of the NCAA. Albany State are the lone team ahead with a 9-0 record. However, Larry Dean is elated with getting on the record books but remains being a dedicated team player.
