Matt Hughes Storm Chasers Death Shocks Fans, Leaves Questions

Last night on Discovery's Storm Chasers fans of the show were shocked to see that it was called and was dedicated to storm chaser Matt Hughes. Watching the episode, some fans were concerned that he died while storm chasing.

That was not the case Matt Hughes did successfully lead his team right into the heart of a tornado during the show, but that is not what caused his death. The show sees Hughes completely thrilled with his success. He and the rest of the members of the TIV actually got to be in a direct hit. The IMAX filmmaker Sean got his footage.

HOW DID MATT HUGHES FROM STORM CHASERS DIE?

So, how did Matt Hughes from Storm Chasers die? The Discovery episode let viewers know that Hughes died that next weekend from complications of a fatal injury at his home. Immediately viewer wondered how can you be fatally injured at home? Of course they rushed to the Internet for answers.

Unfortunately for Matt Hughes, his family and friends, his fellow storm chasers and fans, the information on the Internet was disheartening. The rumors are that Matt Hughes died five months ago in Wichita, Kansas after a suicide attempt. It is unbelievable that after such an awesome success, he would still feel so low. He is survived by a wife and two children, and there is a fund set up for his sons.
