Following a 45-7 drubbing at the hands of the Packers Sunday night, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has fired head coach Wade Phillips, according to ESPN.com. Skip to next paragraph
Dallas, now 1-7 on the season, will reportedly turn to offensive coordinator Jason Garrett to try and right the good ship Cowboys over the remaining half of the 2010 season.
The Cowboys had high hopes at the beginning of the season, trying to reach the Super Bowl, which will be played next February at the two year-old Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
But inconsistent play and injuries, including losing starting quarterback Tony Romo, put Dallas in a major hole. And a five-game losing streak, including a Halloween nightmare of a home game versus the Jaguars and the Sunday night slamdown in Green Bay, didn't help Phillips and the 'Boys.
