The days after the elections results are out will be stressful for Democrats. There will be no farewell ceremony for them. Some Democrats will be upset to see all this unfold in front of them.
The blame game has already started with Democrats attacking each other for the expected losses. The war of words started more than a week before the election. Interestingly, it is being fought on the op-ed page of the American newspapers, including the New York Times.
In an article titled Boot the Blue Dogs, liberal writer Ari Berman criticized conservative Democrats for the mess. However, other liberal don t agree with Berman.
Matthew Bennett of Third Way wrote this in a memo to reporters: It is moderates who are the kingmakers of America politics. They were with Democrats in 2008, and now (apparently) they aren't. To win them, Democrats must become the party of private sector growth, take on deficits and entitlements, embrace and lead on fiscal responsibility, and end their reliance on DC-based interest groups. They must reach for the center, not veer farther to the left.
On the other hands some Democrats, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), has been ripping apart the Republicans. She has accused them of buying the elections. At a recent party fundraiser, Pelosi said:
